Barotac Nuevo campus hosts FEA Christmas Party 2009 Friday, 08 January 2010
On December 15, 2009 faculty and staff from the main campus and the external campuses flocked to the Don Jose Sustiguer Monfort Memorial National College, Barotac Nuevo campus to attend this year’s Christmas party. Participants started to line up for registration at 7:30 A.M. in the entrance hall of the college’s multi-purpose hall. A holy mass was celebrated at exactly 8:00 A.M. in the venue, which was packed with about 600 participants in the program that followed.
During the program, campus administrator Dr. Antonio D. Derequito warmly welcomed the participants, particularly those coming from other satellite campuses. FEA Presidents presented the participants from their respective units. WVCST College President Dr. Luis M. Sorolla, Jr. aired a holiday-inspired message, hinting on possible government incentives. Federated FEA President Samie M. Billanes presided the general assembly, and finally concluded the program.

College executives meet for ACCOWednesday, 09 December 2009Various issues were discussed during the Academic Council Meeting (ACCO) held last December 9, 2009, 9 AM at the EDTech Center, which was attended by college executives and department heads. Issues concerning 1) Candidates for Graduation for Summer 2008-2009 and 1st semester, October 2009-2010; and 2) Proposed guidelines in the implementation of the Basic Safety Course as a requirement in the B.S. Mar. E. curriculum were top priority in the agenda of said meeting.
College President Dr. Luis M. Sorolla, Jr. answered questions raised by some participants, mainly pertaining to the automotive, HRT, library and medical/dental departments. He verbally committed to form an independent committee that will look into the statistics and reports about surplus of student applicants, especially in the College of Industrial Technology. Dr. Luis M. Sorolla, Jr. re-appointed as College PresidentTuesday, 17 November 2009
Last November 13, 2009 Dr. Luis M. Sorolla, Jr., presented to the Board of Trustees his achievements for the last four (4) years during the 152nd Board of Trustees Meeting held in Cebu Midtown Hotel, Cebu City. The presentation lasted for almost three (3) hours followed by a quick deliberation. The Board of Trustees unanimously decided to re-appoint Dr. Sorolla for another term as College President after an overwhelming and laudable presentation of his achievements.
