The BS Information Technology and BS Computer Science of the College of Arts and Sciences are undergoing a preliminary accreditation survey by AACCUP (Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines) beginning August 25, 2009 until August 27, 2009.

A team of five (5) accreditors coming from different colleges arrived Monday afternoon, August 24, 2009. They were billeted at WVCST Guiang Hometel. A welcome dinner was prepared for them, with college key officials and accreditation task force at the campus cafeteria. A program followed thereafter.

The team is headed by Dr. Esteban T. Robiso, Jr., of EARIST. It is composed of the following members: Dr. Rey C. Rojas (CSCST), Dr. Luz L. Sy (JRMSC), Prof. Josephine B. Martinez (JRMSC), and Dr. Editha T. Vasay (DMMMSU).

The visit is intended to survey the following areas: 1) Vision, Mission and Goals 2) Faculty 3) Curriculum and Instruction 4) Student's Support 5) Research 6) Extension 7) Library 8) Physical Facilities 9) Laboratory and 10) Administration

As per schedule, the team will inspect and analyze pertinent documents used by BSIF and BSCS instructors in classroom instruction. They will also conduct ocular inspection of the college facilities and laboratory rooms. Observation of classes is expected, as well as interview with students, alumni and other stakeholders.

An opening program was held at 9:00 A.M. on the second day, August 25 at the EdTech Center. The exit conference and closing program is slated to take place at 8:30 A.M. on August 27, 2009 at the EdTech Center. (S.J. Sta. Maria)
